Privacy Policy
Effective 22 October 2026
Trading Index is an economic calendar and market news app, operated by Jeem Dev. In this policy "we" means Jeem Dev, which is responsible for the data described here. The app has no accounts, no sign-up and no login. You do not tell us who you are, and we do not try to work it out.
What we collect
This is everything that leaves your device:
- A push notification token, but only if you turn notifications on. This is an anonymous device address issued by Expo and Google — it identifies a copy of the app on a handset, not a person. Alongside it we store the notification preferences you chose: which categories you want, which impact levels, which assets and events you follow, the language to write the notification in, whether the device runs Android or iOS, and any price alerts you set (the asset, the price level and whether it should fire above or below it). It also holds your device's time zone (for example "Asia/Riyadh" — a region setting, not a location), so the morning briefing and your quiet hours happen at your local time; whether you turned the morning briefing on; your quiet hours, if you set them; and the countries you chose for event notifications. That is the entire record.
- App stability data, via Sentry. When the app hits an error we send the error itself plus basic technical context — app version, operating system version, device model. Sentry also records a session each time the app is opened, noting only whether it closed normally or crashed, so we can measure how stable each version is. Sessions are counted under a random identifier created on the device. None of this is linked to your push token, your preferences or your identity, and Sentry is configured not to store IP addresses.
- An update check. When the app opens it asks Expo whether a newer version of its code is available. That request carries the app version and platform, and nothing that identifies you.
What we never do
- We do not sell or rent your data. There is no advertising in the app and no ad network in it.
- We do not build advertising profiles or share data with data brokers.
- We do not track you across other apps or websites.
Who else is involved
Delivering a notification necessarily involves the companies that carry it. Your push token is handled by Expo and by Google Firebase Cloud Messaging, purely to route the message to your device. Expo also answers the update check described above. Crash reports and stability sessions are processed by Sentry. No other company receives data from the app.
Everything else the app shows — the calendar, prices, news and cards — is read from our own server. Those requests carry no identifier of any kind: we cannot tell one reader from another, and we keep no log tying a request to a device. Like any server, ours necessarily sees the network address a request comes from; it is held in memory for up to one minute to stop abuse, and is never written to disk or to a log.
Tapping a news story opens the publisher's own web page inside the app. That page is run by the publisher, not by us, and the publisher's privacy policy applies to it.
Where it is stored, and for how long
Device records live on our own server in the European Union, hosted by Contabo. A record is kept only while it is in use, and its price alerts with it. An alert is deleted the moment it fires, when you delete it, or after 180 days if the price never reaches it. It is deleted immediately when you switch notifications off in the app, and it is deleted automatically when Google reports the token as dead — which happens when you uninstall the app or clear its data. Uninstalling is therefore enough, on its own, to erase your device record. Crash reports and stability sessions are kept by Sentry for its standard retention period and then deleted; they are not linked to your device record.
Your choices
- Turn notifications off in Settings. The record is deleted at that moment.
- Uninstall the app. The record is deleted when the next notification bounces.
- Ask us directly. Write to ti-support@jeemdev.net and we will confirm what is held for a token and delete it on request.
Depending on where you live you may have rights under the GDPR or similar laws to access, correct, export or erase your data, and to complain to a supervisory authority. Because we hold no identifying information, the practical route to all of these is the email address above.
Children
Trading Index is not directed at children under 13, and we do not knowingly collect anything from them.
Not financial advice
Trading Index publishes information, including estimates and historical statistics about how markets have reacted to economic releases. None of it is financial advice, a recommendation, or a solicitation to buy or sell anything. Figures can be delayed, revised or wrong. Decisions you take with your money are yours alone.
Changes
If this policy changes, the effective date above changes with it, and a material change will be announced in the app before it takes effect.
